Anyway...

Writing about my life, but mostly about nothing. Expect drastic subject changes with the word "anyway."

Classtime

So I just got back from my first stats class at MIT. I was apprehensive because as I looked around at all the baby faces around me, I couldn't help but think, "Oh my gosh, I'm probably 7 years older than some of these kids." Then when the professor came in, I thought, "Wow, he looks really young." He's probably 30 or so, but now that I've been in the real world for a few years, 30 years old doesn't seem quite that old to me anymore. It's like when I first arrived at college. I was surprised at how grown up all the guys looked. They had facial hair, they grew into their bodies, and they were TALL. Back then I used to think everyone at Pravda, all the 28 year olds, were old and wrinkly. Now that I'm one of them. Sigh.

Anyway, today's class was a review class, and I was happy that I remembered a lot of what was covered. If it doesn't jump too far ahead of that, I think I'll be fine. I chatted with the girl who sat next to me. I kept looking her way every once in a while to try to make eye contact so that I could talk to her. Man, I haven't tried to meet new people in so long. The problem is, most of the kids in class already have a group of friends, and I was desperate to make friends so I could be in a study group. Yep, you read right. I want to make friends to study with them.

In my classes, we have a bunch of teamwork and group discussions so I've met people that way. I also talk to people that sit next to me, but most of them are people that I know from prior classes.

Christine, you are probably just as baby-faced as all of your classmates... nothing to worry about!
