Anyway...

Writing about my life, but mostly about nothing. Expect drastic subject changes with the word "anyway."

Murderball

I met up with Karyn last night for dinner and a movie. She told me she really wanted to see this documentary called Murderball, which is about wheelchair rugby. I hadn't heard anything about it, but I looked it up on medicritic.com and watched the trailer and it looked good. So we went to the Harvard Loews. The movie is only about 90 minutes. Anyway, it was really good, I definitely recommend it. It was really touching to hear their personal stories and the action was cool. Wheelchair rugby was like soccer bumper cars. They just crash their chairs into each other, and people are constantly falling over. The movie introduced the lives of the USA Paralympic Team, so I was really cheering for them: Hogsett, Andy, Zupan, Lujano. My only complaint was that the camera shots were amateurish, shaking and moving too fast, and near the end of the movie, I was motion sick. It turned out Karyn was motion-sick too. I told her I avoided watching the Blair Witch Project all these years because I knew it'd make me motion-sick, and she said, "Me too!" But if you have a strong stomach or you can wait for the video, you should see this movie.

After the movie, we had dinner at Pho Pasteur and dessert at Greenhouse Restaurant. I had never been to Greenhouse before, but it turned out they had lots of cake. We shared a slice of three-layer Black Forest Cake, which was really tall, and we couldn't even finish it. Anyway, that might've been the last time I'll see Karyn in a while. She's moving back to Atlanta in a couple weeks to work for CNN.

When I got home, my roommates were watched Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel, and I plopped down and watched with them. I have to say, Gilbert Blythe has the best lines when he whispers, and much like I did when I was 7, I was mooning over him. Best whispered lines: From 1: "Carrots" From 2: "Please say yes" From 2: "Don't forget about me." Sigh.
