mawwige...mawwige is what bwings us togetha...today
I'm back everyone after a very exhausting week. So let me start from last weekend, Memorial Day weekend. I was stuck in Boston until Tuesday because I was waiting for a UPS package containing a garter for my sister's "something new." I can't believe how hard it is to find a garter in a store! So Friday, I invited my friend Molly over to my house to watch Princess Diaries 2, which was something we've been planning to do for a long time. So I prepared some yummy finger foods for dinner, and we had a marathon watching the first and second movies. Nahir my roommate also joined in.
On Saturday, I went over to Julie's house to help her move. She was moving from Brighton back to her parent's house until she finds a new apartment. So if anyone has a place that's totally awesome on the Boston side of the river and needs a roommate, let me know and I'll pass it on. Anyway, I think I freaked out her work friends because I wouldn't let them throw anything away. I hate it when perfectly good things go to waste. I think when I move out of the city and need to get rid of stuff, I'd try to give it away or sell it. Unless it's completely crappy in which case, I won't care...as much.
Sunday, I saw a little bit of the Memorial Day parade in Davis Square and then went to run some errands around Boston. I walked a lot, hoping to lose weight since I started getting too fat for my bridesmaid dress. I walked all the way from Central Square to Newbury Street. I hadn't walked across the Harvard bridge in like 2 years, it was very nice and relaxing. Then I met up with Carol and Julie for coffee.
Monday, I had lunch with my pastor at Red Bones and I packed my bags for home. Tuesday, I went to my sister Karen's instead of home because she needed help making wedding programs. It turned out that she was pretty behind on them, so I agreed to stay. Wednesday, I was able to slip away from making wedding programs for a few hours while Karen was at work, so I called one of my high school friends who I knew would be free during the day to meet up in New York City. We tried to get tickets for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on Broadway. I was pretty psyched to see that show because two actors from another show I like reunite in this one. Unfortunately, I didn't win the lottery to buy cheap tickets and regular priced tickets were too expensive, but we were lucky because Avenue Q was playing across the street and they had a specially priced matinee performance. When we sat in our seats and were surrounded by hoardes of high school teeny boppers, I understood why. But we enjoyed the show and had a good time.
Thursday was the wedding rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner, and Friday was the wedding. It was nice to see a lot of old family friends and old church members. There was a lunch reception in the church after the wedding that the ladies of the church put together. It was fantastic. Then we drove down to Bryn Mawr for an evening reception. Bryn Mawr was my sister's college. It was a fun time. I gave a maid of honor speech and then I tortured my brother on the dance floor. Good times.
OB and I flew back to Boston Saturday morning for another wedding. One of his fraternity brothers was marrying a Wellesley girl. Awww. There was a huge contingency of Skullhouse alums there, and it was good to see so many old friends. It was a lot of fun. Those boys are so funny when they're all together.
2 weddings in 2 days are exhausting. Now time to sleep...
