Anyway...

Writing about my life, but mostly about nothing. Expect drastic subject changes with the word "anyway."

Sunset past sunset

I stayed at work late again last night to run simulations and also so I could meet up with my friends later without going home. Maggie was visiting for Texas last night, and the plan was for all of us to meet at Sunset Bar and Grill in Allston at 8 PM. I got there first at 7:40, but it was ok because OB was there with Kevin and Carl for Kevin's birthday, so I just sat with them until more people arrived. It turned out everyone else lived in the area, so they filtered in, and we grabbed a big table. I couldn't get in touch with Maggie, so we went ahead and ordered dinner. Finally, Maggie's sister called and said Maggie was MIA. Uh oh. Plus, Maggie's sister Debbie was also coming from Wellesley to celebrate her birthday with her friends. So there was a big group from Wellesley also waiting to come. It's like 8:45 PM at this point. Maggie finally arrived and they came to Sunset after 9 PM. The rest of us already ate, but we hung out for a while. I left around 10:30 with OB and crew so I didn't have to travel back to Davis Square alone. It was really good to see Maggie though. I hadn't seen her since Game 1 of last year's World Series, which is when we met up at Sunset Cantina. Claire from Wellesley was also there. I also hadn't seen her since the World Series. She's currently studying at HBS for an MBA. Like I've said before to some of you, I think it's cool that I'm connecting with all these new people at a time when a bunch of people are leaving.

Anyway, while I was at Sunset, OB and his friends taught me some drunk guy speak, which I thought was amusing. Apparently there are different ways to call your friends lame the drunker you get.
Sober: You're a pussy.
Buzzed: Get some balls. Or my personal favorite: Grow a pair.
Drunk: Is your vagina aching?

Ok, that last one is pretty vulgar. I think there's also another phrase involving a tampon, but I won't go there.
Anyway, happy Wednesday and happy May everyone. Even though it's friggin freezing, rainy and windy.

Christine!! It was great to see you too! I hope you weren't too tired the next morning. Thanks for waiting for me! I'm glad I got to see OB (briefly) as well, although now I'm disappointed that I missed the drunken-guy-speak lesson! Anyway, we will have to meet up for longer some time this summer.

Yeah, it was great to see you too Maggie. Make sure you let me know next time you're in town. The futon at my house is always open.
