Cape Cod Weekend Part I

Wow, I've really been neglecting my blog. My apologies. Thursday and Friday I was in an operational risk conference all day at work. It was a huge deal and the people in my unit at work managed to get into the conference by helping out. I was one of the Q&A people who walked around the auditorium with a microphone for people who had questions. I met a lot of important bankers and consultants. It was informative even though I didn't quite get everything they were saying. It was cool though, but I wish some of them had spiced up their presentations a bit to make them more fun. It's hard to sit and pay attention for that long. I actually drank a lot of coffee in order to stay awake.

Anyway, I left work early on Friday because OB, Dan Dan, Lisa and I were going to go to Falmouth in Cape Cod for the weekend. Last February, OB and I went to Ogunquit in Maine for a time-share presentation. It was lame and we would never have bought one, but they enticed OB with all this "free stuff." One of the free stuff was a discount to stay at one of their other time-shares, which is where we went this weekend. The place was like a family room with two bedrooms: one master bedroom with a jacuzzi and then one kids room. It was freezing all weekend and rainy on Saturday, but I had fun. Friday we arrived around 7. We used OB's trusty Zagat's guide to find a restaurant to eat at. We picked a brick oven pizza place called Chapoquoit Grill, which was amazing. The food was good and the portions were huge. Great combo. After dinner, we all felt like heffers, so we went for a walk. I made them all go down the stairs to walk on the beach. It was freezing and I got sand in my shoe, but it was beautiful and was so worth it. I felt safe with the boys there too. When I was in Miami with Julie, I wanted to walk on the beach at night, but I felt a little nervous about our safety. Plus it's Miami versus Falmouth. Anyway, I'll write more about the rest of the trip tomorrow.
