Anyway...

Writing about my life, but mostly about nothing. Expect drastic subject changes with the word "anyway."

1st post

Well, I've done it. I finally started a blog. I've resisted for so long because I didn't think I had anything interesting to say for your amusement. But I figured, much like the way I talk, I can write about nothing. My brother made fun of me on a three way phone call along with my sister saying that if he and my sister stayed silent enough, I'd just continue my verbal vomit, talking about nothing to fill the silence.

That is not to say this blog will only be about nothing. Like right now, I have lots of stuff going on that I can talk about. For instance, last weekend, I threw my sister a bridal shower. She is getting married in June to a guy named Jay. So I planned like crazy trying to make it special. At the party when the guests arrived, they all took a quiz on the bride. My mom won (she better have!). Then we adjourned to the dining room for a homemade 5 course dinner. Course 1: cocktail shrimp served in martini glasses, Course 2: fresh mozarella and tomato salad with basil in a balsamic vinegar dressing, Course 3: Homemade lemon sorbet, Course 4: sirloin steak served with yams and asparagus, and Course 5: homemade chocolate cake with raspberries. The food turned out great, which I was happy about. It takes a lot to cook for so many people, and timing is so important. But with my mom's help, it worked out well. After dinner, we all sat down to make beaded tealight holders, but my sister was more interested in her X-box, so we ended up playing Karaoke Revolution. What a great game.

Come to think of it, among all my siblings, we all own the three major video game systems. Tim has a PS2, Karen has an X-box and I have a Gamecube. Yeah, we're cool.

Anyway, I was also busy this past week preparing for my marketing class presentation. The assignment was to present our project to a Board of Directors, but I asked if I could do a skit. The project was a movie/karaoke house like they have in Taiwan, where people can rent private rooms and order room service. So I started the skit saying I had a dream that I won The Apprentice, and The Donald said that my assignment was to market our project. It was chock full of corny jokes (Dad's influence), and the class seemed to enjoy it. Then we made the class sing karaoke at the end. It was very very different from everyone else's straightforward powerpoint presentations though, and I'm torn about whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Now that I'm less busy, I've got to catch up on two things I miss: 24 and cooking dinner.

Yes, thanks for your support. Then again, I still cried and threw a tantrum saturday morning.

Sometimes having a different presentation is what will get you the contract, but it really depends on your audience. Some people like it and some people don't.

Oh, and I bought Karaoke Revolution Vol. 3 for PS2 over the weekend. It has "Oops, I did it again" on it :) You have to do that song and the dance when you come home so make sure you practice with that video.
