I gots no manners
I embarrassed myself the past two nights with my lack of manners. Why don't I think about these things?! I'm such a goon, and I'm not even rude on purpose, it just doesn't come into my head. Two nights ago, I started eating my food at Sunset before other people got theirs. Then last night, I went to an apartment cosmetic party at Julie's and was the only one who didn't bring food on top of showing up late. I called Evonne about it, who proceeded to laugh at me, but she did say she's seen me polite at other times. Then I called OB who made me feel better by telling me that it's good I feel embarrassed about it, so I'll think about the next time. I need to get an etiquette book at the library, so I won't be such a doofus the next time.
Speaking of the library, I'm so proud of myself that I finished three books in the past week. They were all short, but still...crossing off three titles on my Top books of the 20th Century lists feels really good. Especially since I'm following three different lists, so I get to cross off overlapping books two or three times. The books I read were The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, Winnie the Pooh by AA Milne and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark. I just started A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, which I'm really enjoying. I really like that it's told from the point of view of a child. Just like To Kill a Mockingbird. Anyway, I think I'll occasionally stray from the list because I'm also interested in reading Jules Verne and some Mark Twain. Any recommendations?
Anyway, like I mentioned before, I went to Julie's apartment last night for a cosmetics apartment party, which is like a Mary Kay presentation for groups. I went to something similar at a co-worker's house from Watson Wyatt. Only that time it was a Pampered Chef party, which is a food demo using their gadgets and tools, which they try to sell to you. Anyway, last night's cosmetic company was Arbonne, which Evonne informed me that Courteney Cox uses. They boast about their all natural products without using mineral oil. I ended up buying a tube of mild mud mask. It smelled kinda like the clay from the mud bath that I had in Colorado Springs, so I thought it might be good.
If I don't get a chance to blog this weekend, have a happy Memorial Day!

Mom and Dad think that you should read some of those Christian dating books that I've read.

When i was a kid, I loved reading Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 days. Of course you can probably do that in less than 80 hours now...
I hated Huckleberry Finn, but I liked Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain.
Have you read the Time Traveler's Wife? It is SO good, and like the sap that I am, I cried at the end. It is a really cute read.
Let me know what you think of these if you read them!
