Stitiches Midwest 2011

I went out to Stitches Midwest today for my very first yarn expo!  It was $8 admission, but for the size of the expo, I think it was worth it.  I spent 4 hours here.

Here were my favorite vendors:
Miss Babs Hand Dyed Yarns & Fibers www.missbabs.com Mountain City, TN (I won a door prize here).  Sock and worsted wool yarns.  Hand painted and nice mixture of colors.
WEBS Booth www.yarn.com Northampton, MA - This is one of the major online yarn shops.  It's a huge booth and probably had the most customers of any booth. I considered buying Vally Yarns Valley Superwash DK for my Ohio Knitting dress pattern, but they didn't have the colors I needed.
Zen Yarn Garden www.zenyarngarden.com Brights Grove, Ontario Canada I didn't buy anything here, but they had really nice cashmere blends for $30 a skein.  Beautiful colors.
Woolstock Yarn Shop www.woolstock.com Glyndon, MD They had a lot of bags of yarn for pretty affordable.  I ended up buying a skull hat pattern with GLOW IN THE DARK yarn! I also spent an extra $2 for the Sublime Extrafine Merino Wool.
Yarns by Design www.yarnsbydesign.com Neenah, WI I bought this really yarn called wool bullie from here.
Friends & Fiberworks www.friendsandfiberworks.com Asheville, NC I bought some nice merino wool blends here for my cupcake hat.
Pajolo Alpacas www.pajolo.com; www.alpacanation.com/pajoloalpacas.asp Austin, MN My favorite alpaca booth run by a really nice couple.  I bought a pattern for a teddy bear here, and the husband said I could call his wife for help if I got stuck on the pattern.  The yarn was the most affordable alpaca I saw at the show.  I got the yarn for the teddy bear here too.
Oasis Yarn www.oasisyarn.com 834, 836 They had some nice novelty yarns for cheap here. I bought some for my cupcake hat.  They also had an assortment of Australian wool.

My advice for any first time craft expo attendees: come with a project and a pattern in mind (or buy one at a booth) and buy yarns fit for those.  Here's what I came back with.
