Knitting Fiend
I've recently become inspired to knit again. My next project is a panda hat that my friend can wear to music festivals so people can find him in a crowd. How random! It's been really fun to knit. I'm knitting a plain white hat in stockinette stitch in the round and then colorblocking the face with black yarn. I can't wait until it's done. I just finished the nose and mouth.
Also, I went to my State Street Borders last Sunday after i saw the "store closing" sign in the window. On the one hand, I'm really sad that book superstores are going away. On the other hand, I loves me a good liquidation. I bought a taebo DVD from the 90's, ha! I also saw a book called "The Ohio Knitting Mills Knitting Book," which had the most adorable patterns. At 30% off, it still was cheaper on Amazon. Guess that's why Borders can't survive. How adorable is the Mondrian dress on the cover? There are other patterns in here that I'm really excited to try out too. I didn't see many finished projects on ravelry, but this book just came out last year. Plus, most people (including myself) hate paying for patterns. Normally, I hate buying pattern books too because they go out of style so quickly. I mean, I checked out some knitting books at the library from 5 years ago, and even those patterns look hokey. But most of these patterns are "retro," so hopefully I'll still love it in a few years.
