IBC vs. Goose Island
I bought a six pack of IBC root beer, my go-to college root beer. Loved it with a cool bag of pizza combos. It tastes as I remember - very sweet, soda-ey. Kind of a generically good root beer. Your good ol' macro root beer posing as a micro brew.
Goose Island comes in a pack of 4. Their shtick is that it's made with 100% cane sugar. I've had this before - the root beers that Marshalls and TJ Maxx sells have this too. It definitely tastes different. A little less sweet than IBC and its corn syrup sweeteners. And almost a grape juice aftertaste. Not sure where that's coming from, but the flavor is not really classic root beer.
