Root beer blog?
So OB and I were in Madison yesterday with Matt and Elizabeth. We went to Graze for dinner, Madison's version of a hip trendy restaurant complete with the hour plus waits. Anyway, I ordered a bottle of root beer, one of the few non-alcoholic drinks they had, and OB suggested I start blogging about root beers since I started buying micro brew root beers whenever I get the chance. Not sure if that will warrant a whole blog, but sure, I'll throw in a couple comments whenever I have them.
The two sitting in my fridge at the moment are Dang! root beer and Steven's Point Brewery root beer, both Wisconsin brewers and purchased in Milwaukee. Steven's Point was very good, not too sweet and a little bite to it. There's a goofy conehead guy on the bottle too. The Dang! one was a little disappointing. It tasted like it was aged in steel barrels and still held onto a metallic taste. I like to call it the Belgium root beer.
In other news, I went to a sale today called the "Cheap Thrills" sale in Wicker Park. It's a joint sale with Tangerine, City Soles, Eskell and Penelope boutiques. Tangerine is my favorite boutique in that neighborhood, but it is mad expensive. Today I scored two Tibi items for only $60 each and some Ever floral shorts. I don't have great legs for shorts due to my ginormous calves, but they were super cute. Thanks to Daily Candy for letting me know about this sale. I got on their mailing list, and I can't wait for the next one in July!
