Anyway...

Writing about my life, but mostly about nothing. Expect drastic subject changes with the word "anyway."

Happy 4th!

Sorry for the long draught. A lot has happened this weekend. On Thursday night, I went out to dinner with some people from the Research department at work. They're cool, and I realized that I tend to get along with people that I don't work with. I think it's that I only know these people in a social context, and I tread more carefully around people I actually work with. Anyway on Friday, me and OB watched Reservoir Dogs. Interesting movie. That one scene where Mr. Blonde was cutting up the cop was pretty gruesome, but for the most part, I could stand the violence. Go desensitizing! You know that one scene that gets continuously copied, the one where the guys are walking like bad asses in slow motion? I was disappointed that it was only in the beginning and it was over before I knew it.

On Sunday, I went to Chowderfest with Julie and Carol and Carol's boyfriend Max. I must say, I was quite disappointed in Chowderfest. This self-described "Best Chowder in Boston" contest only had 3 contenders, and it turned out that two of them "tied" for first place. Basically, USS Bataan was screwed, I feel bad for them. I still had fun though because I had a chance to hang out with my friends while we waited in line, and it was something different to do. There were a few random carts with free samples too. The highlights were the Pilsbury cake cart and the Haagen Daas cart. Dulce de leche ice cream is great!

Sunday afternoon OB drove me out to my sister's mother-in-law's house in Worcester for a family bbq. It was pretty fun. My sister brought me some stuff back from her honeymoon in Hawaii: 3 t-shirts, a necklace, and an apron. The families also got to know each other better. So my parents stayed with me from Sunday to Tuesday. I couldn't get Duck Tour tickets like I wanted, but we went for a walking tour around Boston. I took them to Chinatown for lunch, and we ate so much we skipped dinner. That is so unlike me! (not the overeating but skipping dinner). Then we watched the fireworks on TV. Tuesday we went for a walking tour of Davis Square. My dad actually got his haircut here because there's no real barbers in Flemington. Then we went for Thai food, which is few and far between in good ol' Flemington. I think it was a real treat for them. I had a great time with them, and I miss them already.
