Rochester case competition

(The picture is a cake)
I spent the weekend in Rochester for a case competition. When I got there, I was separated from the rest of my classmates and put into groups with students from other schools. I thought my group worked really well, but sadly, we didn't win. In fact, no one from my school won, which kind of made me sad. Heineken sponsored the competition so there was a lot of beer available. I tried Heineken light for the first time. The social parts were really fun though, and the Simon students we met were really laid back and fun. We partied pretty late with some of them. Adam, who was in my group, took us to have garbage plates, which were a Rochester thing: 2 hot dogs (or cheeseburgers), fries, rolls, and macaroni salad. We ate this thing at about 2:30 in the morning.

Anyway, when I got to Chicago, OB picked me up at the airport. Sunday was our 7-year anniversary. I gave him the presents I got him from Belgium: beer, a beer glass, and chocolate.
We went out to dinner, and it was really nice to spend some time together. He's watching the NCAA final now. Tonight we went to House of Sushi and Noodle, which was the 5th time I've tried. We finally got in, and I was pretty disappointed. I knew the sushi would be cheap but it was worse than I expected. Surprising considering the 2 hour wait for a table on the weekends.

Today we also drove around Chicago looking for neighborhoods for OB to move to. He ended up admitted that Gold Coast was cool (I told him so). He also really like Lakeview up by Belmont, which is a happening area too. I'm so excited for him to move to Chicago!

In other news, I heard back from the study abroad committee, and they accepted my application! I'm so excited to be going to France next winter for 10 weeks. Time to learn French!
