I had a fun break from work. Thursday I went to Wellesley's graduation to see OB's sister graduate. I ran into a lot of alums I knew and also saw some professors. The speaker was Ophelia Dahl, who is a pioneer in public health and is also the daughter of author Roald Dahl. She was a Davis scholar too, which was exciting because she actually knew what it was like to be at Wellesley.
Friday I went to the MFA with OB. We got those audio tours, which I loved. I got to hear more insight on the artist and the background story behind the art. I saw some really nice paintings from Charles Sheeler too. I liked Iron into Ore. Or was it ore into iron, I can't remember. That night we hung out at his fraternity. It was a late night.
Saturday we went to Pu Pu Hotpot for lunch and then to Sevan. By the time we were done with that, it was almost dinnertime. The boys went to Sunset, while I met up with Maggie, Julie and Carol for sushi. Maggie was in town for her sister's Wellesley graduation too. Anyway, it was so nice catching up. After dinner, I went to Sunset to meet the boys, and we pretty much stayed until closing.
Sunday was a winding down day, which was good because on Monday I flew to DC for work. My bosses were presenting their paper and I got to tag along. So we flew out in the morning, went to the presentation, went to Bombay Club (Kabir's favorite restaurant), and then flew back to Boston. It was a nice break from my cubicle.
So i've been getting some mixed advice from people over whether I should get a car when I go to Chicago. If I do get a car, I can live further north in a cheaper place and still get to school faster. Plus, it'll probably be safer for me to drive myself. If I don't get a car, I will live downtown and probably save a lot of money. Tell me what you think.
