Mission accomplished

I went to Chicago last weekend to look for a new apartment. I had about 6 appointments set up throughout the day on Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM. I spent so much time researching for the amenities I wanted, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to decide. But it ended up being obvious once I was there. Anyway, after all the research, I ended up picking a building that I didn't have an appointment for. After my last morning appointment, I was walking back to the train when I saw a sign outside of a building. I thought it was probably going to be as expensive as the one next door, but I had some time so I thought I'd just ask. I lucked out because a studio had just become available the day before and it was in my price range! The building was gorgeous and luxurious. The studio was sizeable with tons of closet space. The kitchen even had a dishwasher. The buiding itself has free storage, a fitness center, and even an outdoor pool. Course I probably won't get to enjoy it until next summer, but at least it's there. I still went to the rest of my appointments that day, but this place was hard to beat. The next morning when their leasing office opened, I was there ready to sign an application.

OB met up with me on Friday night to spend the weekend with me. We explored parts of the city. On Friday we went to Chinatown for dinner. Then on Saturday we walked through downtown and along the lake. He also took me to El Barco Mariscos, this Mexican seafood restaurant. The food came out on a huge platter and reminded me of Fear Factor, but it was tasty. We also explored Old Town and had pizza while watching the World Cup. It was a really fun weekend with him. Best of all, I had him all to myself!
