Finally a break
My bosses were away this week, so I've finally been able to leave work when I'm actually supposed to. Racking up 5 comp days in March was nice and I'm sure later on, I'll be glad I did it. But at the time, it bit. Anyway, last weekend was really fun. Friday night I went to a Tufts multicultural dance show that Raj's girlfriend Gunjan was dancing in. It totally reminded me of college again. But looking closer, they were all mid to late twenties med students. Then on Saturday night I went over Raj's apartment for a yummy steak dinner. He broiled steak and made mashed potatoes, asparagus and squash. It was so awesome. I think I would broil steak at home more often if the pan weren't so darn hard to clean.
Sunday Annie took me to the Wrentham outlets. She had never been before. I hadn't been in over a year, so it was really special for me. We had such a good time browsing and finding some really good deals. I tried to be good and not spend too much because my expenses have skyrocketed recently. I bought a few things, but I think I got decent deals on them. We didn't quite make it to the last aisle, but it's just as well. The first few aisles have the best stuff. Afterwards, we had dinner together at an old fashioned restaurant nearby. The name escapes me now, but it was awesome. I had the meatloaf. :)
This week has also been really fun. On Monday I watched 24 as usual. Then on Tuesday, I had my last sewing class. I learned to make buttonholes, which wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm almost done with the cardigan! When I got home, I baked an apple pie, which is Julie's grandma's recipe. It turned out great. On Wednesday I had lunch with a GSB alum who is now an SVP of marketing. So I picked his brain about the career path. And then at night I hung out and played pool with my co-worker Chris. He kept scratching on the 8 ball and got pretty frustrated. I legitimately beat him once so I was happy, and then finally he beat me legitimately. Then we had dinner at Red Bones. We sat at the booth, and the kitchen staff hooked us up with fried catfritters. Sweet!
