Plans for the future
The 20's are so awkward. Not in the way that middle school was (which i'm still trying to forget), but the awkwardness of the unknown. I mean, how many of us really know what we want to do with our careers and how many of us are actually doing something to reach it? For me, I applied to business school and said that I wanted to get into a career in marketing, but to tell you the truth, I've never worked in the field and have no idea how I'll like it. So am I really moving forward or just delaying my decision?
So I resolved to look for a summer internship in Marketing. I guess it won't be so bad to stay at my current job until I go to school. Afterall the money will be better than an internship. But I see it as more of an investment. At Wellesley's internship recruiting, all the i-banks only wanted to interview people with i-banking experience. Isn't the point of an internship to get the experience? It seems very backwards to me, but oh well, I must go with the flow.
OB and I have spent a lot of time on the phone lately strategizing my next steps. Thank goodness for him. He's way more decisive than me. Hopefully his confidence in the future will rub off on me. I'm very apprehensive of it, but it's because I'm risk averse.
After my applications were all sent out, I resolved to relax this semester since I'm not taking any academic classes. But already I'm keeping myself busy. First, I'm looking for an internship. I'm also looking for scholarships for school. On top of that, I started crafts again, new ones too. For instance, I've been teaching myself how to make beaded jewelry with wire. I'm also taking a sewing class. And I'm currently thinking of doing wood burning. Wouldn't that be cool?
