Anyway...

Writing about my life, but mostly about nothing. Expect drastic subject changes with the word "anyway."

Merry Christmas

I am back at work today. Man, it is tough getting back in the groove of things after being away for a few days. When I got in though, I had a nice surprise waiting for me. Claire, one of the officers who is retiring, left me her recipe of spiced pecans. On Family Day last Friday I complimented her and asked her what was in it. She started telling me the recipe and before long, it was too much to remember! I can't wait to try the recipe. It's got a little bourbon and cayenne pepper in it, but it's so yummy. I think I will make it for my apartment Yankee Swap.

Anyway, I had a fun Christmas at home. I got Donkey Konga 2, sewing lessons, winter hats and goofy pajamas from my family. I also saw Fiddler on the Roof on broadway with my family. I dragged them out to TKTS, and we waited in the freezing cold for 2 hours for Dirty Rotten Scoundrel tickets, which were sold out. I didn't want to go empty handed, so we got Fiddler. It was a fun show though. Harvey Fierstein played Tevye, and his voice was funky as usual. How did he become a broadway god? Rosie O'Donnell played his wife, and I was disappointed in her. She's been in a bunch of broadway shows, you'd think she'd get singing lessons. But the daughters had beautiful voices and I enjoyed the production, so it was worth it.

On Monday night I stayed with my sister and on Tuesday we went shopping. Garden State Plaza was disappointing. No good sales. Plus, people are rude! I got cut in line twice. First at Bath and Body Works, this woman left her baby carriage in the middle of the aisle and walked around and shopped. Then when the line started moving forward, she came back and forced herself in front of me. Then at Wendy's, this woman basically shoved me aside to cut me. The selection of stores in NJ is good, but I could do without the rude people.

I got back to Boston yesterday and ran a bunch of errands. I also saw Cheng and Dow-Jane, who just got engaged to each other. We met up at Carl's house, played Taiko Master and watched South Park.

I did get to work on applications a little. I wrote two essays while I was at home and I started to fill out the forms. I still have a lot to go though, I hope I can find the time. I can't wait until this is over. I have been doing this since August!
